Key retaining means that the key will not come out in the unlocked position.

Non key retaining means that the key can be removed in both locked and unlocked position.

1 key pull is key retaining. Key can only be pulled out in 1 position. 2 key pulls is non key retaining. The key can be removed from either the locked or unlocked position.

R keyway is the Regular standard keyway y11/ 54g style. The L keyway is the delta keyway. This is a restricted keyway in disc tumbler in 6 wafers. It is only sold as cut keys. The L keyway 5 wafer is used so locksmiths can cut their own keys. They can order locks that they can control the system for.
